Step 1: Stink it Up
Whether it's your gear or someone close to you. This work has already been done.
Step 2: Fill up the tub
Fill the tub or container with hot water. Make sure it's a big enough space to fit your gear.
Step 3: Add Hockey Soup
Tear open the package and empty all contents into your hot water.
Step 4: Add Gear
Add all washable gear to the tub. Make sure to give it all a good dunk before letting it soak.
Step 5: Let it Soak
This is where the magic happens. Let your gear soak for 4-6 hours, mixing every 2 hours. The water will slowly change color.
Step 6: Rinse
Drain the tub and give the gear a good rinse. This can be done in the tub or outside with a hose. Just make sure to rinse everything out.
Step 7: Air it Out
Hang it up or set it out and let the air do the work. Depending on the outside temperature it may take a couple hours to completely dry.
Step 8: Get back out there!
This is the part where you can confidently go into the rink smelling better than the rest. Wear it proudly and encourage your teammates to get the stink out of the rink!
